What is thick balladry? Sounds like a meme. _________________ Join us in the canon game / Add me on RYM

Literally yes. There's a carefree energy to those early records that really carries them along, and I might prefer their version of 'You've Really Got a Hold On Me' to Smokey's. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.

I don't think I would go as far as every prior Beatles album, but thank you for calling this out. Literally one the most overrated albums of all time. _________________ on such a winter's day

Great album; revolutionary and innovative for sure, but i gotta agree... It's a mess, i think this is obviously due to it's length, cause i think there are way too many fillers in here, but there is also some of The Beatles greatest songs, imagine if Hey Jude was here, instead of a couple of filler songs... personally i would love that. Anyway, my favourites are Back in the U.S.S.R., While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Blackbird and Helter Skelter.

I think I'm in the middle ground with this album. I'm not considering it one of the greatest albums ever, and yet I don't think it's one of The Beatles' weaker albums.
It has lots of filler, but the highlights are insane. _________________ All time

Hahaha. You're right. I meant by the opposite of thin ballads.

Because having a pompous opinion seems to be a trend... the correct way to list the Beatles albums goes like this:
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Abbey Road
Revolver
Magical Mystery Tour
With The Beatles
Rubber Soul
The Beatles (The White Album)
Let It Be
Beatles For Sale
Help!
Please Please Me
A Hard Day's Night
Yellow Submarine
Just kidding... cuz it's impossible to have subjectivity with art. Always objective just like a math problem.

It's a mess and sounds like a band falling apart, and is my favourite Beatles album and one of my favourites ever...
