This album sounds like Cocteau Twins transported halfway around the world, which is cool. Only it's not quite as good, at least not as of my first impression. Still very enjoyable. 3.5/5.

C'Era Una Volta Il West [Once Upon A Time In The West] by Ennio Morricone
This certainly had some cool dynamics/orchestration to it. But in the end it is limited to be music that supports something else, and imo doesn't stand well on its own. Not all soundtracks are like that, but this suffers from that a bit. L'uomo dell'armonic and Armonica definitely was a highlight for me. Something in the 75-80 range.

Gorgeous vocally and instrumentally throughout. However, this album meanders a frustrating amount, and the songwriting is inconsistent in quality. Very good, but in my first impression not one of the best of its niche. 3.5/5.

This album hits immediately. A chilled-out, street-conscious gangsta album from Ft Worth, Texas. Probably the best I've listened to so far off of this list. Apparently it sold well in the underground, 10,000 copies in a week is a lot, and it's highly regarded by those in the know. They're a duo, and one of the MC's, Twisted Black, is currently serving a life sentence for a fourth charge of cocaine distribution. A lot of the lyrical content centers around his time in and out of prison.
A little long at an hour, but it's incredibly consistent, barring one skit that goes on too long; I will be putting this into my rotation.
There's another track that has a kind of skit integrated into it, but it was hilarious. I almost thought it was Dave Chappelle playing a white character.
Baystate, so many good ones to choose from. I think you'll like Judee Sill when you get to her, but I'm going to have to choose Expanding Universe by Laurie Spiegel since it is also on my overall.

At first I was a bit underwhelmed by the music, but by the end of it I as digging stuff like verbal intercourse, which had a repetitive thing going on (which at times drives me batty), but around this time I actually started digging it. My favorite track though was Rainy Dayz. 80-85.
2. Natives in Black - Sick of Da Bullshit! (mostly cause I am too). Also was a bit bummed at first I couldn't rec the Expanding Universe by Laurie Spiegel album in time, but super glad chief did anyway!

I really enjoy this album. Like a lot. Most of these songs are head knocking rock songs with a noise rock flair. And for the most part, it works in spades. The only argument is that a couple songs might have quips that prevent it from being flawless. Otherwise, yeah this is a personal favorite. Grade:90

A very interesting record, chock full of ideas that I will need time and repeat listens to process. That's entirely unsurprising given that it's from Tap's chart, which is full of albums like that. At this point I don't have much else to say - it's creative and I quite like it. 3.5/5.

I didn't really like this anywhere near as much as the other four albums of Miles that I've listened to. A bit too slow and not enough interesting going on.
