Weezer is a pinnacle.

Green Day. Eminem. Drake. Coldplay. Unfortunately, all of which have more duds than hits now.

Some recent additions to the club:
Chance The Rapper
Kanye West
Justin Timberlake
Beck

Wu-Tang's had some heavy duds too.

I like to forget the bad releases.

Since no one else has, I have to mention The Beach Boys. While I stand by my statement that the perfect album doesn't exist, Pet Sounds comes the closest, and their later career is known for dire releases like:

Summer In Paradise by The Beach Boys

Yeah, they managed two decades of good albums (mostly anyway-I used to consider MIU a bad album then Yann pointed out the rather sweet 'Match Point of our love' and this redeems the album a bit.

I've not listened to their 80s/90s albums but I think it's safe to assume they made some terrible ones. The tracklist for the one you pick it out (surfin', still surfin'-Jeez) is not promising.

And, yes, Pet Sounds is as close to a perfect pop album as you can get really. Though I'm interpreting 'perfect album' here as '5 star classic' of which the Boys have a few contenders.

Yes, with Raditude especially they learned to make terrible music with a kind of military precision.

Oh damn... yeah Raditude and Hurley... they just don't exist to me. I won't even acknowledge their existence... except when I am... like right now.

I can actually live with Hurley. It's not going to be a rec for anyone, but still...it just kind of reminds of stoopid 90s alt rock/metal I used to listen to when I was 14 and I'm okay with this even now when I'm in the right mood (there's some decent tunes on there). Though it's a truly terrible cover/ title. Sometimes, it's like Weezer lost the distinction between ironically bad and just plain bad for a while back there ๐Ÿ™

That's a great video, I've seen some of his others recommended before but never watched them. Seems like a fun channel.
