"Summer in Hell" as some haters have dubbed it! It was a commercial failure and critics point at it as the artistic low point of the band's whole career. The bottom songs are decent, but quite average. Other songs are lame, but the good fun kind of lame. Others again are fairly strong if not at the very top of Beach Boys' career. Flawed, but not something "transcendentally" bad as it's made out to be! (Edited)

Mike Love's "Pet Sounds" is so bad it's impressive.
It shouldn't be possible to make an album so corny, disjointed, out-of-touch and uncomfortably horny as this.
