The first major album entirely synthesizer driven. Savaged by the mainstream rock press at the time Dare still stands as one of the best pop albums of the eighties.

I dunno about that...? I mean, Autobahn didn't use any non-synth instruments and it made it into the US Billboard Top Ten in 1974.

I honestly had no idea that Autobahn charted in the US, and that high, wow.

Anyway, Dare is solid but I'm sure there are other synth-driven albums that predate 1980 in addition to Autobahn.
