On a Lynyrd Skynyrd binge in honour of guitarist Gary Rossington who has died today aged 71: Gary was the last remaining original band member.
Sorry to hear about Rossington. I saw Skynyrd in 1977 at a July 4th Stadium show with Peter Frampton as the headliner. While Frampton sounded great in a small venue (Frampton Comes Alive was recorded at Winterland) his band's sound was no match for Skynyrd who were amazing that day!
Never got to see them live which is one of my musical regrets. They must have been great especially in the last โ70โs. So sad to hear of Garyโs passing. Great band
