The River by Bruce Springsteen
As far as Bruce recs go...start from the beginning.
Greetings From Asbury Park, NJ (the Dylan comparison album)
The Wild, The Innocent, & The E Street Shuffle (the becoming a true songwriter album)
Born To Run (the Clarence album)
Darkness On The Edge Of Town (the Bruce as a guitar slinger album)
The River (the keyboard album)
Nebraska (the true solo album)
He has many fine albums, but the first six are essential. Born In The U.S.A is what made him famous...but the ones the core of his fanbase turn to always are the first six. The River may be the lesser of these, because it's more keyboard based and has some filler. But the highs are tremendous. And if you haven't experienced Nebraska, then you have truly missed out. |
Much appreciated ? some great advice. Will need to revisit most of those, Love Born To Run, 10th Avenue Freezout one of the first Springsteen songs I remember that really got my attention... Nebraska I definitely need to spend some time with, off top of my head I remember enjoying Atlantic City but can't remember much else.. need to rectify that.
Cheers!
