First an album I already own/know:
As I have a new scoring system which is mainly aimed at making some kind of distinction between the good but nog great album I will also focus on the albums in the middle section of my year charts (there won't be a big change in my top albums). So here is the one ranked now at rank 42:

Power Chords by Mike Krol
The album is what the title says: focused on big power chords and not only that also infectious melodies so really a likeable album and all but one tracks are in the top tier of good tracks so the album stays at rank 42 in my year chart.
And an album from my wishlist and I stubbornly continue with Tindersticks albums:

No Treasure But Hope by Tindersticks
And as the former album not really their best and even fairly boring even for their doing. The only interesting tracks are Trees Fall and the very slow but good title song: so that isn't really enough to guarantee an entry in my year chart.
Sex Crazy by The Lurkers
The Lurkers was one of those seventies punk band hardly anybody knows. It's not that they were the best punk band of that time but they sure had they're and they were energetic and loud. And after all these years this another punk album and they haven't lost anything of their energy. Sometime the songs are a bit formulaic and sometimes the lyrics are too (Doll no 5) but who cares: this is still real punk with the real bar room punk spirit. And the album immediately enters at the 53rd rank.
Drunk Tank Pink by Shame
Apart from Idles I'm not a big fan of most postpunk because I have the impression that it's becoming a bit too formulaic. In this sense I believe I have given a bit too much credit to this album by Shame at the time of its release. When listening back to it I still hear a few good tracks like Alphabet and Harsh Degrees but it all seems to fit a bit too much in the same mold. So still ok for my 2021 year chart but goes from the 64th to 96th rank.

Distractions by Tindersticks
And containing only 7 but relatively long tracks. The band will never be known for being loud but their good albums (not only their first but also a lot of their more recent ones) had a kind of tension that made them very interesting anyway. Well this is not at all the case for this album. The first and longest track is still maybe interesting because its repetitiveness induces some kind of trance but the rest is just plainly boring. So not for my 2021 year chart.
And btw this ends my quest into Tindersticks were it not they still have to release a 2024 album, Soft Tissue. I already listened to three already released track and for the moment there is still nothing positive to say here. But of course I will give my full opinion upon its full release on 13 September.

Dodging Dues by Garcia Peoples
This is a fine jam band with for me a bit of reminiscenses to Phish. Sometimes they rock a bit harder with actually some good guitar solos and this makes this album sufficiently diverse although there a few minor phases which means that the album moves from the 31st to the 62nd rank.
Btw: this is the only remaining regular album of Garcia Peoples on Apple Music: all their other albums have disappeared which is a real pity.

Weird Nightmare by Weird Nightmare
The Canadian punk band Metz is a favorite of mine although I never saw them live. This album is by the first solo album of their front man, Alex Edkins, and what a fine discovery this is. The punk sound of Metz is still their but added is a lot of melodic sensibilities which remind me a lot of Hüsker Dü, not the worst reference. And the songs are there to prove it with the single Lusitania as the exhiliarating highlight. Other highlights are Sunday Driver and the droning Dream. This album is so good it immediately enters at the 11th rank in my year chart.
So now starting with round 15 and starting in 1963, my birth year.

Surfer Girl by The Beach Boys
And these were my comments: 'I very much like the Beach Boys, both albums like Pet Sounds but also their earlier surf albums like this one which have some great harmonics and of which I know already most of the tracks from compilations. But they can get a bit mellow and they sure are on a number of the tracks of this album (Hawaii, the title says it all and some others). However there are some real standouts here as the title track and Little Deuce Coupe and In My Room. So this album deserves a place in my top63.' And I stick by it: the album remains at the 5th rank of the year (the last: there are still not many good albums in this year).
And currently no albums from this year in my wishlist.

Bringing It All Back Home by Bob Dylan
Of course this album already contains a few of his greatest songs but in my opinion also a lot of filler and I repeat I'm not the biggest Dylan fan so it has to be in my top chart but it remains at a fairly low rank at number 14.
Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
When The Rolling Stones released Aftermath, The Beatles and The Beach Boys had released two masterpieces, Pet Sounds and Revolver. Aftermath did contain a few hits which counted amongst the best of their career (Under My Thumb, Lady Jane, Mother's Little Helper, Out Of Time) but the album also contained a lot of filler (that in the case of Goin' Home also lasted for more than 11 minutes so a real and complete album it wasn't yet. But when you count the hits and some other ok tracks, this album still deserves to move from the 19th to 13th rank.

It Serves You Right To Suffer by John Lee Hooker
This was an album which was released on a jazz label and in my opinion it could have done better with a bit more jazz elements in it like on the best track Shake It Baby. Also the cover of Money (That's What I want) is enjoyable but otherwise I don't know: just not good enough for my 1966 top chart.

... if your looking to add some stuff to your wishlist. The two LPs from The Searchers this year are also really, really good!
AND definitely without question check out the two Manfred Mann LPs from 1964 if you haven't. I'd be floored if u didn't like those two.
The Five Faces of Manfred Mann were already on my wishlist so definitely something I want to check out (also the band in general should be checked out further by me because they sure knew how to jam).
Me and country is not a very happy marriage but I'll put that Everly Brothers album on my wishlist for the next time because I'm indeed a sucker for good harmonies and the Everly Brothers sure know how to do that.
As far as the Searchers are concerned, I have the impression that the albums you mention are just a collection of one or two hits and a lot of covers so still not to be seen as a full-grown album. And of course I'm maybe a bit biased by that big hit of theirs, Sweets for My Sweet, which is maybe a bit too mellow for me. But definitely interesting, thx Repo.

That's what I thought at first too, BUT those two albums are actually really worth checking out. The guitar playing is great and almost proto-Byrdsy at times!
