I know that I should like Todd rundgren but just can’t get into him. Any recommendations on Where might be a good / accessible place to start would be greatly appreciated?
This one is his Masterpiece with so many sublime melodies, vocals and also creative spontaneity, which some can find challenging.
While Wizard and Todd are two of his best, they also are double Albums with psychedelic inspiration.
I would checkout his first two Albums: Runt (originally credited to The Nice his original band,) Runt: The Ballad Of Todd Rundgren; also you might like his 1978 release: Hermit Of Mink Hollow.
Thanks man, that’s really helpful. You might get to see some Todd being posted by me here over the next few months. And so another journey begins
Subtitle notwithstanding, this title/cover combo has aged less poorly than many of his other exotica records. Anyway, beautiful music. _________________ Join us in the canon game :) / Add me on RYM
You've got to appreciate the "no BS" aesthetic it must have required not to put a big black cloud on the cover, raining large chunks of molten iron down on the unsuspecting population.
