It took 10,000 Days for Tool to have an album of the day! (Just kidding! : D Hopefully it didn't take that long...)
This album will take your ears on an amazing journey as the customized album cover art stereoscopic eyeglasses take to the same place the eyes of the tenebrous multi-eyed multi-faced multidimensional crypt-shaped being. Tool had made another legacy in the progressive metal soundscape. Impressively doing so after a second 5-year gap since their previous album, Lateralus, and before then Ænima.
Once again:
Adam and Justin play consonant piquant and vibrating riffs producing several sounds as heavy as metal, seasoned many times with time signatures, which are a signature and other frequent tools in Tool's music, along being played in the tranquilizing yet serious D minor key more than usual, with the clear yet exhilarating A minor (Don't come for me, Kendrick! XD) played in the quieter tracks and E minor and B minor being completely missing in this album, which is a testament to how Tool hasn't played more keys than these four in all of their discography (II could be super-wrong though...), but given how keys are main components of defining the music's mood, Tool uses them for consistently expressing certain serious moods, which the keys can capture perfectly, and are part of the band's signature sound, which makes them so great!
Along Danny's intensely impressive fast and complex drumming which finishes constructing the whole instrumental composition.
Which concludes with Maynard singing in different types of voices the lyrics he has written for the finished tracks, with each one depicting a certain topic or a story which can make you sit and ponder or chuckle at the humourous tiny parts popping seldom.
Highly recommended!! Makes me want to listen to Tool's albums again.

The album that sold me on Tool, especially the mammoth and cathartic Wings For Marie suite.
I find this to be a notch below Lateralus and Ænima but it’s still loaded with a bunch of their best and most fiery tracks. _________________ Attention all planets of the solar federation: We have assumed control.
