A third entry from producer John Benitez, aka Jellybean, the fourth single off his second album, the final one, and the third of which features here.
Personally prefer this to the previous two, the bar isn't that high for me but it's a bit dancier and that bit more fun.
His albums after this didn't appear to do particularly well, so it may be the last we see of Jellybean, this time featuring American singer Adele Bertei on vocals.

The debut single from R&B soul singer, Will Downing, this is actually a dance take on the John Coltrane jazz album of the same name.
It's surprisingly catchy for what it is really, just an unusual choice.

Now 13 starts off with a fairly big number one hit, still getting a lot of playtime this one.
Yazz had previously shown up as a featured artist on a Coldcut track earlier in the series, this one however is much much better.
Could be considered a one hit wonder in essence, the debut single of their debut album, it was the first track on the album, and it fired it's way up to number one in several countries, with a brilliant mix of dance and R&B.
The follow up single charted ok, but beyond that everything struggled to match the hype of this opening single, and their albums outside their debut did not chart well if at all.

A real synthpop classic, did well originally chart wise but its staying power appears to be where it really thrived, years later it remains a big hit.

Originally an Isley Brothers track back in 1975, the Christians, not a religious group despite the name, covered it in the late 80's as a charity single, which hit number 8 in the UK charts.
Never heard this in my life before and it's alright, not blowing me away but nowhere near the bottom of the list, not quite soul but not quite sure how else to describe it.
No longer together, the Christians first two albums did very well in the UK however.

I first came across the Scottish brothers back in Now 10, with the surprisingly good Labour of Love, now they are back for the second time in the series.
Ordinary Angel didn't do as well as Labour of Love, but it's still got a good catchy soul pop thing going for it, there's a nice feel good factor here and I dig it.
Still going strong these two even if they haven't had chart success in over 30 years, admirable.

Breathe were a short lived new wave style band from the UK, releasing just 2 albums, the first of which did quite well though.
This is a real late 80's power ballad, and a good one at that actually, much to my surprise one of those I didn't think I knew but I really did.
Not the best thing in the world, but as power ballads go, a decent effort.
