I just realized i listen to fuck all metal. I have Paranoid on my chart but nothing else. I really should start listening to more metal albums.

If you want more classic metal stuff, my overall chart has a ton of that.

I've never really understood the major appeal of this album. It's been on and off my chart, but it rides a fine line. War Pigs is quite simply one of the best metal songs ever recorded, but the rest is less than great. Iron Man has a fantastic riff, but not much else. Planet Caravan is a great tune but goes on for too long. The same could be said for Hand of Doom (which also suffers from lazy transitions). Electric Funeral is a little too cheesy. Fairies Wear Boots is a solid if not outstanding closing track. As for the title track and Rat Salad...well, let's just say that the only reason I would ever even consider listening to them is if I were listening through the whole album. The title track is incredibly boring with very little substance, and Rat Salad is a mind-bogglingly lazily written instrumental with a drum solo that has virtually no rhythm.

Overall, it's not a bad album. It has some pretty bad songs, but it's got some pretty great ones, as well. Still trying to pin down exactly how I feel about it.

Best tracks for me: Iron Man, War Pigs, and Electric Funeral.

Not a single bit of crud in this album. So far, it's one of the best ten albums I've heard.

I like how in your notes you call it a darker LZIV. Applause One of your better notes yet. Except Paranoid came out first.
