Palin hands down. As hilarious and skilled as all the others are, none of them could touch Palin when it came to acting.
If it's just about favourite Pythons, I'd have to pick Gilliam because of Brazil.

If I were to rank them, from most awesome to not quite as incredibly awesome, it would be:
1. Eric Idle
2. Terry Gilliam
3 & 4. John Cleese/Graham Chapman (tie)
5. Michael Palin
6. Terry Jones
Though in Jones' defense, he's done some incredible work as a historian, post-Python.
