Cash. I don't dislike Mingus, but I've never really loved his stuff. No connection for some reason.

I like Mingus, but, out of all the jazz I've listened to, he's probably one of the least interesting artists of the genre. Johnny Cash is just amazing on the other hand.

I'm not quite sure I understand the question. My statement was fairly straightforward. I'd also recommend not taking it out of context. The half you question only remains true if you put it together with the other half (it isn't a comprehensive comparison of Charles Mingus to every other jazz artist out there). However, if you're asking what I mean, I just think that everything else I listen to employs more of "wow" factor to it. Whenever I hear something like Communications (The Jazz Composer's Orchestra self titled), Action Jazz, Nation Time, Ask the Ages, etc. it has this very impressive insanity to it that I don't feel whenever I listen to Mingus. That's not to say he's a bad artist; he is really good. In the end, I think there's plenty of more interesting artists to listen to when it comes to jazz.

Ah, the overly defensive contrarian strikes again.
