Cat Power at her best (as on Moon Pix) is fantastic, that rare artist whose work is both intensely personal and yet effortlessly universal. Sadly, to my mind anyway, she just isn't as consistent as Fela was. His list of near masterpieces is ridiculously long, and even his weaker moments are never less than pure passion and unfiltered funk. If he won the tournament I'd be extremely satisfied. Ew. Both are truly exceptional artists, and among the best of their respective decades, but as much as I love, say, Zombie or Expensive Shit, Cat Power has fucking You Are Free. Voting for her, but there is no bad outcome here.
