Deservedly in my top 10 of all time, it just sets the bar in post-punk for me, raw yet catchy throughout at the same time, going to blast it out now (For well over the hundredth time).

When I first heard The Fall, I was really immersed in post-punk music, but they just didn't tick with me (same with Swell Maps). I've tried once or twice again and only ever been really moved by a handful of songs (including a recent single of theirs) but I really wanna keep trying seeing as I have a massive respect for John Peel and many other fans of the band.

Brilliant album. Most certainly one of the greatest ever post-punk albums. Like Patman, I'm gonna stick this one on for another listen. I Am Damo Suzuki is amazing!

yeah, they're pretty much the musical evolution of Swell Maps' sound. Might just not be your bag. For some reason (from the 1500 tourney maybe), I thought you liked Swell Maps, Satie. Think

Anyways, I LOVE the Fall. Pretty much every album I've listened to up until (but not including) Kurios Oranj are golden in their discog. This, Hex, Dragnet, Witch Trials and Bend Sinister are all awesome. Every time I give them a spin, I realize that "Hey, Mark", you really need to listen to even MORE of them! Luckily, I bought the Complete Peel Sessions based on Skinny's rec right before I took off for Malaysia so I have even another thing to look forward to on my return home! Yeah!

Very nice. Hex Enduction Hour is my favorite from them, but as Repo said, all their material from around this time was great.

I'm planning to listen to the Complete Peel sessions but I feel that i should listen to more of their discography beforehand since I've only heard this and Hex.Any suggestions on which to listen to first?

Live at the Witch Trials
Dragnet
458489 A Sides
(to remind you what a great singles band they were/are)

For a more recent take:

Fall Heads Roll
The New Fall LP Formerly known as 'Country on the Click'

This Nation's Saving Grace offers a more polished, charts-friendly (if possible) take on The Fall's sound due to Brix's influence ; the result is one of the best records of the 80s. Go for it.
