Maybe this isn't that important of a topic to some of you guys. If you just listen to albums only and know what you want to listen to, that's pretty cool.
However, I am extremely OCD about having my music organized or if I don't know what I can listen to, I'd like to be like "Hey, I could use some soft music. I'll go through here and see what I find."
Do you have playlists or a means to organize your music so that it's easy to find based on common themes?
In a sense, this is sort of what an application like "Songza" tries to do for you. They create "masterful" playlists in advance and then organize them based on "Mood", "Activity", "Genre", etc.
When I listen to an album, I like to add it to my collection. The playlists I've tried having thus far look something like this:
Shoegaze/Slowcore/Dream Pop/Ethereal Wave Soft Noises
Noise Rock/Heavy Rock/Hardcore/Punk/"Goth" Rock Hard Noises
Post-Rock/Psychedelic Rock/Post-Punk/Experimental Weird Noises
Hip Hop Beats and Rhymes
Synth Pop/Trip Hop/Electronic/New Wave Electronic Influences
Indie Rock/Alternative Rock/"Rock"/Progressive Rock Straight Rock
Folk/Acoustic Acoustic Instrumentation
Jazz/Funk/R&B/Soul/Singer Songwriter "Love" Playlist
Am I weird for this? Does anyone else like to organize their music into playlists or something or have any good ideas to share? _________________

Occasionally I will create playlists - usually for an artist rather than a genre, but I don't keep my music organized by genre...it is organized by artist....Anyway, nothing weird about it... ๐ _________________ "And canโt you see youโre in on it?

Yeah, my playlists are usually mood-based. I listen to the pop one most, but there's also ambient, melancholy, noise, etc. I also create people playlists, or lists of songs to listen to with a particular person.
