Added to the site today. Only two tracks have been leaked, album scheduled for release in mid November, a month from now. It is now in the database to be considered the best ever album, and not one person here has heard it.
Has BEA become a race to see who can become the first to add new albums, regardless of whether they've even been heard or not? How can an album like this possibly be ranked, rated, or evaluated? _________________ I'm leaning on the threshold

The album has been on RYM for nearly 3 weeks where it has been added to the wishlists of almost 100 members. I'll be all for a system where we could wish list albums that have yet to be released. Personally, I would genuinely use it more then I use the current wish list format. _________________

Is the goal then to become like RYM? Doesn't having albums on BEA that no one has listened to, and that do not yet exist, go against what BEA was created for? _________________ I'm leaning on the threshold

The album art is out, as is the track listing and chances are the album will be streaming sooner rather than later. The album is going to be added to the site at some stage, so why not let it be added now considering every detail about it is known, sure, it doesn't need to be on charts yet, but I have no problem with it being on the site, it may even attract new users to the site who go out looking for details about the album. _________________

Well it's not like any of the forum regulars added it to the site, why wag the finger at us?

I literally could not care less. It's not like it would make the top 1000 of the year anyway until people have heard it. Also hasn't it been leaked? I heard it being mentioned that it had when I saw TV On The Radio play last night.

The point is that while the details of the album are out, no one has actually heard it yet. Yes, it will be added at some point...but why should it be added before anyone has heard it? The question remains...how can it be one of the Best Ever Albums if nobody has yet to even listen to it?
The only way albums can be added is by putting them on charts. There's a reason for that. Kind of the point of BEA is that in order to add an album, you need to have listened to it and decided that it merits being on a chart. How can this album have any value on a chart if it has not yet been heard? _________________ I'm leaning on the threshold

I'm not "wagging a finger"...we getting a little over sensitive here? Seems the view right now is that every time I post, I'm putting someone down, which is really unfair.
Pointing out the fact that it wasn't a forum regular who added it is pretty ridiculous. Do forum regulars have special rules? Are people who don't post here not worthy of notice as to what they do on the site?
What I am doing is trying to have a discussion about something that happens a LOT on this site (from "forum regulars probably more than non regulars, if that's important to you). This is intended to be a discussion about whether certain albums should be added to the site or not. Which, I thought, should be a part of what the forums are for. _________________ I'm leaning on the threshold

As of yesterday, two tracks had been leaked.
I'm just looking for some understanding as to why someone would add an album to a site like this without having listened to it first. _________________ I'm leaning on the threshold
