Still would have probably, as Broadcast + Vilallobos + OutKast is ace, Drake is my favourite from the lot, but is backed up (as far as excellent albums are concerned, don't get me wrong, I like American Beauty) by Exuma. Edging towards '03 singles too, because Chicago + Mungo is an average combination to me.
Argh, decisions decisions. Bryter Layter is my favourite thing on either team, but Dopesmoker and The Ha Ha Sound aren't too far behind, whilst I love large parts of Speakerboxx/The Love Below (if not the whole, unfortunately). Never been massive on The Wrens, but that Villalobos record is dope (if not one of my favourite techno albums, unfortunately). I'm a massive fan of both Exuma and American Beauty, but Third Ear Band does absolutely nothing for me and Sir Lord Baltimore are one of those bands that I feel like I should enjoy more than I actually do. Neither singles selection is speaking to me particularly, but 'Crazy In Love' is head and shoulders the best thing among the ten. 'Instant Karma' is one of my favourite Lennon songs, but any good will brought about by that choice is basically cancelled out by the horribly mawkish 'The Long and Winding Road'. I don't like to make decisions based on selections I don't like, but it's the only thing across either team that I really can't stand. And, given the closeness of the match, it's probably the decider in pushing me towards voting 2003. A shame, because both are strong teams and there's not a bad album between them (well, except maybe Third Ear Band, but even then I can't say that I dislike it particularly), but I really fucking hate that song (also, y'know, I really fucking love Dopesmoker). Vote to 2003. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
