Is this a good album?
Don't. Ask. Me. I DON'T KNOW
It's sure got its moments, though.

ungghhhhhhh
I have a little girlish crush on everything Randy Rhoads and this is like, the best stuff he ever did. Ozzy is fine, as a solo artist he was a good melodist (for the most part) and his lyrics were ok to cringey, but hotdamn if these songs are just total fucking rockers. I remember when I first heard Crazy Train I couldn't stop listening to it, I was just constantly listening to it. Dee is awesome, I Don't Know is awesome, Mr. Crowley is fantastic, just such a great album all around.

It's pretty good, and Randy Rhodes is a good guitarist. The whole thing is kind of dumb, though, kind of paved the way for glam rock.

This. Most of Ozzy's solo career has been hit or miss, but those first two albums were killer and he deserves the majority of the credit.

Ozzy is exceptionally good at pairing himself up with incredible guitarists. Randy Rhoads is what makes his first set of albums incredible, Jake E. Lee was a great guitarist, but not good enough to carry him later, Zakk Wylde was good enough to carry him on a few albums, and so far Gus G. has been great, but Ozzy's just getting old and the music sounds tired. _________________ Progressive Rock

I agree that he's had other good guitarists. But Rhoads was on a completely different level than almost anyone from any genre. Those solos in "Mr. Crowley", "Over the Mountain", etc are just so mindblowingly better than anything almost any metal guitarist has done in my opinion.
