RIP Ozzy Osbourne. A unique, eclectic rock star and one of the GOATs. I've never been a big fan of him as a person (or his family for that matter), but you’d have to be deaf, dumb, and blind to deny the man’s musical legacy. The stuff he did with Black Sabbath invented several genres. Dude bit heads off bats, snorted ants, abused every drug he could find and still lived to be 76.

In remembrance, I've tried to compile a list of top 10 best Sabbath and Ozzy solo songs and ended up with 15.

1. Black Sabbath
2. Into the Void
3. Children of the Grave
4. Symptom of the Universe
5. NIB
6. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
7. Snowblind
8. War Pigs
9. Lord of This World
10. Behind the Wall of Sleep
11. Diary of a Madman
12. Supernaut
13. Spiral Architect
14. Planet Caravan
15. Bark at the Moon

What are your favourite Ozzy Osbourne stories, memories, songs, albums, concerts?

I cannot really think in terms of songs. BUT, I can think in terms of albums. And the albums that made ozzy O-Z-Z-Y <to me! Twisted Evil > as a kid growing up in the early-mid eighties in suburban public school America, where the Ozzman was totally larger-than-life for us were ...

1)
Diary Of A Madman by Ozzy Osbourne

2)
Blizzard Of Ozz by Ozzy Osbourne

3) ...

OMG! Is Ozzy's album Speak of the Devil not in our database, yet? Besides my crazy hippie Aunt who gave me two Black Sabbath albums on cassette (their self-titled debut & Vol. 4), THAT is how me & my friends discovered Black Sabbath! Ozzy came first! Then Sabbath!

4)
We Sold Our Soul For Rock 'N' Roll by Black Sabbath

edit: Nerermind! It's called Talk of the Devil, not Speak of the Devil. I guess people say that too?!?! Think Anyways < Whistle >...

3)
Talk Of The Devil by Ozzy Osbourne

5)
Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath

6)
Vol 4 by Black Sabbath

Rather than picking any songs, I hope it’s ok if I share seeing them live.

The first time was December 1973 at the iconic Birmingham odeon, just a few days before my 15th birthday which is why I remember the month so vividly. It was the most mind blowing, visceral experience for a young Brummie lad to experience.

The next was again at the odeon, clearly one of the bands favourite venues, this time in 1978.

The last time was in 2014 at Hyde park here in London supported by Soundgarden. Ozzy wasn’t quite the force of old but still commanded the stage.

One of the greatest, loudest, most visceral bands of all time.

It does indeed which is why I couldn’t pick any. Would be soooooo hard to do which is why I picked seeing them live.

It’s great to see so much love for the great man on BEA today. R.I.P. Ozzy

One of my fav Black Sabbath songs, but brings back sad memories of a friend that I lost.

(separate threads for recently departed seem to work better).

Like LedZep, my thoughts were what's my 5 favorite Sabbath songs and 5 favorite Ozzy songs. My Sabbath list had to be expanded to top 10

Favorite Sabbath
1. After Forever
2. Symptom of the Universe
3. Tomorrow's Dream
4. Black Sabbath
5. Hole in the Sky
6. War Pigs
7. Lord of this World
8. Never say Die
9. Into the Void
10. Evil Woman

Favorite Ozzy
1. No More Tears
2. Mama I'm Coming Home
3. Revelation
4. Crazy Train
5. Bark at the Moon

True legend gone. Well done of him for hanging in as long as he did. Theoretically he beat the odds at not going sooner.
