Okay everyone, I have a confession to make: I love dumb indie rock like this. "Take Me Out" is one of the greatest songs of the 2000s, and the album is ridiculously close to a five-star rating for me. "Michael" may be the absolute masterpiece, though.

I don't get how this is dumb. Sure, it's lively, jerky and has some of the most infectious hits of the 2000s, but to call it dumb when it has darker and mellower moments like Jacqueline, Auf Achse and 40' that seem to be played straight makes me question your statement. Is it because you can dance effectively to it? So, by your logic, you're saying that the artists that inspired FF's dance-y qualities are consequently dumb? Not saying you can't like dumb music, but I don't consider FF to be that.
Anyway, this is a decent album. Initially, it didn't click with me, but it is warming up to me.

I know, Hazey, I was teasing. The "dumb" moments are definitely where this shines brightest, though.

I've always had pretty lukewarm feelings about this record. I think it's a quality collection of well executed pop songs but always felt it lacked something emotional.

I feel the same, definitely lacks any sort of emotional core. Hard to vocalise what I feel about it cos it was two years ago I heard it but it feels very hollow - Take Me Out aside, which is a stunner.
