FTFY

It's a great tune but Red Rain and In Your Eyes are incredible as well. It's full of filler, but this was one of my first 50 cent CD pickups and I still enjoy it probably more than I should

Filler? I think the songs you mentioned are in the 2nd tier of tracks here. The more spacious, less pop-y tracks are where it's at here in "Mercy Street", "Don't Give Up", "That Voice Again", and yes I agree "In Your Eyes". So so great this album be.

only filler in my mind is dontgiveup. MEANWHILE: red rain, that voice, mercy st, in your eyes, big time, and sledgey's hammer are huge songs. ain't no shame in loving this. i used to listen to red rain on repeat for hours. then i'd switch to that voice. hours later, mercy or your eyes. and big time is so savvy and self-deprecating it could've been morrissey.

best. dadrock. period.

Don't give up is beautiful!!!! Don't resist the sentimentality. Embrace it. Let Kate's voice soothe you in your fits of Greif!

But, Dude, Norman dude, this album changed my life. If you coild hear my internal review of it, it's just me being mushy about how important it was for me in a really difficult part of my life. Though the real reason I love it do have more to do with its long atmospheric instrumental passages that mesh well with its blatant mid 80s adult contemporary tropes, I promise I do not have this as a favorite of mine for any sort of meme effect.

So is a fucking beautiful album. Especially with In Your Eyes closing the album. The instrumentation is great, Peter's voice, lyrics, and writing are all stellar here. One of my favorites from the 80's. Red Rain is a gorgeous opener. Yes, Mercy Street and Don't Give Up are beautiful but Sledgehammer is still a kick ass track.
