Am I the only one who finds the opener here really un-PC?

No. It was plenty controversial at the time. It was banned by the BBC & they'd only play a lyric-free version on the radio. The video was really controversial too & I honestly have no idea how I saw it at the time. It must have been shown after midnight on Channel 4 or something, seems the sort of thing they would do. Though at least all the violence & sex in that was justified by the final shot which turned it into something clever. Well, by music video standards.
I hadn't realised until just now that the controversial lines were a Ultramagnetic MC's sample though, so this song was the first time I ever heard Kool Keith. I knew he was on Diesel Power but not this one. Also hadn't realised that Soundgarden's Matt Cameron plays some live drums on this record.
Anyway, it's been a long time since I've heard Fat of the Land for whatever reason. Stuck it on just now.
I bought it on cassette when it came out with pocket money after being enchanted by Firestarter & especially it's video of the scary looking man shouting in what looked like a sewage tunnel. Then at some point I got into metal, totally forgot about this, later got a much broader taste in music but never came back to Fat of the Land. And I'm thinking it was a mistake. I can remember how thrilled I was at 13 with a song called Funky Shit. Look, I was easily amused, Death or Glory was my favourite Clash song because of the line "he who fucks nuns will later join the church", swearing was the height of comedy to me.
I'd say the highlights are the singles (Firestarter, Breathe & Smack My Bitch Up) and Diesel Power. I'm suddenly regretting not listening to this in 15 years. It's pretty good.

I remember the beastie boys refused to play with the prodigy at some fest because of smack my bitch up. I remember thinking that was disappointing and hypocritical considering the way they had behaved previously. I mean did anyone really think that Keith flint was a pyromaniac and an advocate of twisted fire starting? Great video by the way. They were fantastic live on this tour too.
