Takes me back to my high school days partying with friends. Don't understand the backlash against this one, got such a chill vibe to it.

Personally, I think this album is a modern classic. All of the tracks are excellent, especially the first 3 and the last 3.

The nostalgia hits pretty hard for me. The gritty Sheffield neorealistic narratives told from the perspective a young lad with an aristocratic way of storytelling, weaved together with pulsating and genuinely pretty accompaniment was what drew me in all those years ago. One of the first albums I ever heard and probably the first band I ever considered a favourite of mine when they were first getting big. Nowadays, you can't have an upcoming local scene band without having a dabble at one of this album's colourful cuts (or from AM if you think sacrificing integrity for pseudo-sexy homogenised guitar licks and Sabbath plagiarism are your thing). Even amidst my pompous and pretentious dialogue, I don't think this album is quite as perfect as I made it out to be. Despite that, I still had some killer memories with this album. _________________
