Here is what I have so far. Basically just songs that have a creepy organ waltz. I know about some old calliope music, but I am more interested in contemporary artists integrating this kind of sound in their music.

loadsa people have covered it but I think the best versions are by Frank Sinatra and Judy Collins.

Tears of a Clown by Smokey Robinson

And didn't Britney Spears do a song called Circus? Couldn't be that memorable as I couldn't whistle it but it might have a good video.

Oh, and Clown by Emeli Sande is a good song.

RE Brit: Yes - not sure if it musically needs to sound like a circus or just have it as a theme. She had a whole album as such - it actually had some decent pop songs on it.
