Is this album still as polarizing today as it was back in 2006? I guess it really wasn't too polarizing among critics; they didn't seem to care for it. However as a rock-only obsessed kid back then, I liked the excessive nature of the album. Vision of Division is still one of my favorite songs by The Strokes. Given that their albums since this one have also been kinda lame, is this one seen in a more positive light now?

I've always loved the first half of this album but felt that the second half is a little inconsistent. Songs like Vision Of Division, Razorblade, and You Only Live Once are superb, and amongst my favorites from The Strokes. This may still be my second favorite after Is This It.

Is it solipsistic in here or is it just me?

I've always felt like this album got a lot more hate than it deserved. It's still a really solid Strokes album with some of my favorite tracks of theirs (Razorblade, Vision of Division, Juicebox)
