Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.7/100, a mean average of 71.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.1.

Maybe could have done with cutting a few of the weaker songs, but I think it's a very solid album. The first two tracks are brilliant - Juicebox and You Only Live Once (my favourite Strokes song). I also really like Ize of the World.
Has a few meh songs but overall still a very solid record
J'adore cette Album, pour c'est leur meilleur, du Strokes survitaminé !
My least favorite by them. Not a fan of the direction they took here.
Some of their best tracks are on here... but as whole, compared to their other work, not a great record. Just okay.
Some of their best, some of their worst. Underrated by some, overrated by others. As an album, this is good. A lot of weak tracks but a lot of amazing tracks too. It works waaaay better as a playlist tho, just keep the good ones and forget the worst ones exist.
I do actually like most of the songs, but it was not at the same level as their first two records and the second half of the album the quality drops.
Not as instantly likeable as the previous two, and when you decide to do the same thing for the third time, you will have to come with some really good songwriting.
Has a heck of a 4-song opening. Unfortunately, the rest of the album doesn't quite meet those heights. There are some underrated Strokes songs on the album, though. "Vision of Division", "Electricityscape", "Fear of Sleep", and "Evening Sun" are all great and feel right on this album.
They should've cut "Ask Me Anything", "Killing Lies", and "15 Minutes". They would've been better as B-sides, and the album would've been another classic.
When you turn it on, it's fine, but when you turn it off, you won't miss it.
