133rd best album of all time is a damn insult and goes to show the public's disinterest to female artists let alone female artists that make electronic music. this is a masterpiece where every track is brilliant, gorgeous and radiating with pure emotion

133 is an exceptional rating, there's certainly less deserving albums ahead of it, but many thousands of great records below it.
You're not wrong about disinterest in female artists though. I had to check but there's only two female-lead projects in the top 100 here on BEA (depending on how you'd label Portishead, then it's just Joni Mithcel scraping in at No. 100). That's crazy low representation. No one can argue there's no collective bias there.

I like Bjork but I cannot understand why this is rated her best album. I can think of 3 better albums by her. Don't get me wrong it's not bad but it's no masterpiece.
I agree with what's been said about female artists. I also love Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Portishead, Ella Fitzrgerald, Etta James and many other great female artists. I am glad Bjork is reprazenting but I just feel it's the wrong album.
Maybe I need to listen to it a few more times.

Love this record. But Vulnicura and my favorite Bjork record Medulla are superior in every way.

It's definitely her most immediate record. If you love Debut I'd be stunned if you aren't blown away by Homogenic. Keen to hear what you think!

Definitely my favourite Bjork album I've heard so far. I'm gradually making my way through her discography, and this is by far her best work I've heard (I've heard Debut, Post, Homogenic, Vespertine and Utopia so far). Every song is exceptional, and the way she manages to infuse electronic music with such emotion and purity gave me a new look on the genre altogether. Overall a flawless album, with Joga, Bachelorette and 5 Years being my personal favourites (although all 10 songs on here are beautiful!)
And as for females in music, especially the 1990s, I feel they are extremely unrepresented and often glossed over by the public. The 1990s had some of the best female artists out there, such as Bjork, Fiona Apple, Tori Amos and many more. All three of those artists just named are amazing in every way, all with flawless albums, unique sounds and ideas, as well as an undying passion for their craft. Yet, they manage to still be fairly unknown by the public, and that may be down to the fact they are females - and that upsets me.
Bjork, and other female artists in general, deserve higher recognition than they already get, as they are just as fantastic as any male artists out there and have just the same right to be represented in a positive way.
