For me "Eliminator" and "Afterburner" are the essential ZZ Top albums. Their videos were legendary in the 80s and listening to these songs still makes a lot of fun.

ZZ Top's most popular album... and it's a complete sellout. Long gone is the legit Texas blues boogie; enter slick, overproduced, made for MTV drivel.
Gimme' Tres Hombres or Deguello any day.

Yes. But this is still a lot of fun. I think they make it work. Not over fussed on Afterburner but I do love those Eliminator singles. Gimme all your loving is them playing their shit over daft punk's da funk and sharp dressed man is just an amazing riff. The whole thing with the videos, image, lyrics and production is rediculous. Only in the 80s. Yes those other albums mentioned may be better but sometimes just having a few drinks and sticking this on is very enjoyable.
