Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 6% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.8/100, a mean average of 74.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.5.

I’ve got a lot of respect for ZZ Top but the sound of this album is pretty awful. To rate this as the band’s best album is outlandish and unfortunate. Their early albums are so much more interesting than this one.
Eliminator has a handful of great, classic tracks and some not so great (to say the least) tracks, all backed by a soulless drum machine to suck dry any sense of likability through authenticity which normally comes with ZZ Top albums prior to this one.
Has the big hits that make it an enjoyable listen but it is a bit formula driven
Blues rock com synths que deu o tom na década.
4 bangers and the rest of the album is kinda samey rockers with nothing special to offer.
down to earth straight-ahead rock and roll
One of the key rock albums of the early 80's, "Eliminator" was vital in ushering in an era of phony rock cheesiness, glitz, glamor, and most importantly, style over substance. The soul of ZZ Top can still be heard if you listen hard enough, but it's bloated with the excess of sound that would become the style of the times.
Favorite Tracks:Bad Girl
Slick overproduced faux ZZ. It's not quite a complete abandonment of all that was right and holy about ZZ Top, but close.
ZZ Top acending to the top of their carreer with a mix between blues and rock. This album contains the top hits "Sharp Dressed Man", "Gimme All Your Lovin" and "Legs". 9 good songs from 11 tracks provide a good listening experience. (album rating: 68,64 %)
Great hard diving rock from Texas. Flow of tracks is excellent, particularly the first three on side 1. The three guys create a big sound considering the year of release, although no reference is made to synths on the sleeve notes they are being used quite minimalistically, possibly controlled by a bass pedal board. Difficult to listen to this without getting off your ass and moving to that driving beat! Sharp Dressed Man and Legs are my top tracks.
