What's some of the best music to play in the middle of the night? Something chill and spine tingling that soothes the soul.

jk, you should listen to this

Ambiq by Max Loderbauer / Claudio Punti...uel Rohrer

It's weird jazz that uses the Buchla 200e synthesizer, the sound never gets crowded and the music goes out there but never really "difficult" exactly, I think it hits the desired points.

Dog & Butterfly by Heart

Side two (the butterfly side) of this album is the absolute cure for insomnia. I fell asleep to it for years. Still do once in a while...works like a charm. It's actually quite nice to have Ann Wilson singing you lullabies (although Nancy sings Nada One). Starting with Dog & Butterfly, through Lighter Touch, Nada One and Mistral Wind. Perfect late night mellowness.

I think this is a great middle of the night album:
The Blue Nile - A Walk Across The Rooftops
as well as their follow-up album - Hats
