And, perhaps for those that are of the age to have actually watched it, did influence your listening at all?

Got a few that are right up there for me (will share some others later), but as for a favourite...

Ooh, that Judee Sill one was great.

And Curtis was great as always. That jacket looks strikingly modern to me.

Here's another.

I was too young to watch the OGWT in its heyday, but was it influential on my music tastes? You betcha.

The first time I discovered it was via a BBC “Sound Of The Seventies” series, specifically the episode focusing on punk/post-punk. Whistle Test performances from X-Ray Spex, The Damned, The Buzzcocks, Magazine and The Undertones featured, all firmly lodged in the memory and a huge influence - I bought albums by the lot of them in my youth.

But Judee Sill aside, the other perfect Whistle Test performance for me was Dr. Feelgood doing “Roxette”. (Thames) Delta Blues straight outta Canvey Island. Wilko full of speed, Brilleaux looking like he’d just crawled out of a ditch and would chin yer. Never been a huge fun of theirs, but this track is pub rock’s finest 3 minutes:
