I'm assuming we've all kept up about what Noname has said the past week about performing for white audiences.

I thought about keeping mum on the subject, but, as I'm maybe going to the Blackalicious show on Saturday night, it's hard for me not to think about the baseless assumptions she's made about white people that listen to black music.

Other comments aside, if many of the white people in her audiences are yelling the n word, I understand why she'd be uncomfortable with continuing to perform. Sucks if they ruined it for everyone.

Personally, if I'm at a rap show, I'm not singing that word. But I'm in the minority on that one. It shouldn't come as a surprise if people do though. Kendrick made a stink out of it a couple of years ago, but other artists don't care at all.

Read the article and her pov sounds pretty racist to me. If a white artist said they didn't want black people at their shows ...
Too bad. I really dug both her albums. She was prominently supported by Pitchfork and played at the Pitchfork Music Festival. Guess she doesn't like dweebs like me. lol.

In better news, great game yesterday, Chief! We lost but it was a total nailbiter all the way to the end. Love how we almost game back. I think our receiving group is starting to look better too. Hopefully there's a rubber match in a month! Twisted Evil

Yeah, it's not a good idea to alienate the people who are actually paying to see you perform.

Despite what was a horribly officiated game for both teams, they managed to actually make it interesting at the end. I'd be cool to not play the Patriots in the playoffs again though. Mr. Green

Yeah, I read that. It attempts to clarify her dumb choice of words by putting them into a context that wasn't there when she made them, which is how bad writers think you make a persuasive argument. Fuck those kids at the concert, but they were probably singing along to music in the venue (they weren't just jumping around saying , N*****, N*****, N*****) and I don't think the people that listen to her music are like that. Her audience, that she dissed, is not a bunch of drunken fratboy-sounding stereotypes. Unless, Baystate has been hiding his true side all along... Anxious

when did she diss her audience? she called herself a clown for performing for white audiences, elaborated on that by expressing how uncomfortable she is about hearing white people in her audience repeating the n word from her lyrics, and wished that black fans would be showing up for her shows. kinda fucked up that she should be expected to always be performing gratitude in spite of how she might actually feel.

I was at a concert last year with my girlfriend at the time. We were kissing and dancing way in the back of the venue when three black woman started verbally assaulting me saying "White privilege, white privilege, " over & over again in an intimidating and aggressive fashion. So my girlfriend & I left and went to a great dive bar up the street.

Maybe this is why millenials no longer go out! lol
