In league of the best double albums! Although by all means, my least favorite Hendrix album.

This is the comment for Electric Ladyland on my overall chart.

"This next film I will direct will focus on a very controversial topic: philosophical intercourse. Imagine the man who makes love to his guitar, and imagine the woman who makes love to her drugs. Bring them together and film it. With my direction, you have something as pure as gold, as well as something more controversial than pornography but not as vulgar. You have an epic poem played like a rock album, a story of love, life and loss as well as death, drugs and damsels in distress. Come play with Jimi. Come play with Dr. Feelgood, because philosophical intercourse is not a belief, or a sin. It's a musical style. And when you've perfected it, you've won my respect."

A bit long and sprawling
But packed with so many moments of genius it's still an all-time fave.
