I remember when I first got into the White Stripes two years ago. Like most people, I fell in love with Elephant first, and thought that this was just an appetizer to that. But then one week while I was volunteering at a church camp, I "Fell in Love with a Girl", for lack of a better phrase, and had the urge to listen to this album ever day that week. As my obsession for this girl continued to grow, so did the stature of this album, until it's bluesy love music stole my heart from the chick.
The first side is especially perfect, but the most notable songs to me are opener "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground", which summed up my infatuation very, very well, and "Expecting" which really describes to many relationships in life to name.
Overall, this is surely one of the greatest albums of the 2000's, if not ever.

When you say 'best track', are you saying 'this is the track off the album I personally like the most', or are you using some series of complicated formulae to reach the conclusion you have stated above? As I would humbly suggest that your pick is, to my ears anyway, not the 'best track' on this wonderful LP...

He's saying "series of complicated formulae to reach the conclusion" . We actually have no clue what music he actually likes.
The White Stripes are one of my favourite bands, and this is a side of them I love to hear every so often. Just the raw sounding guitar, over crazy drums. Just two people rockin' out, and I love it.
Fell In Love With A Girl is probably the best song I know that's under 2-mintues _________________ Doubles & Conch

Although I prefer Elephant, this comes in as a close second. Very, very good.

I think I'm one of the few that actually perfers White Blood Cells to Elephant. Love them both to death but this was the first album I ever listened to by them and I was astounded at how simple it was, yet how arresting it was. Dead Leaves has one of my favorite intros, love to play it on the guitar. It's so easy but just sounds so great, like everything they did.
