Agreed.

I do like playing "Crying Lightning" on the drums though. Matt Helders is great. I was glad he got a chance to do something else a few years ago with that Iggy Pop record.

disagree with you two. This is their 3rd best imo. Infinitely superior to AM especially.

I don't recall a single thing about it. I think in 2009 I was mainly listening to Jay Electronica and Freddie Gibbs and The xx and dubstep.

Ditto what others have said, very surprised this is even in BEA's top 1000.

IMO I guess Arctic Monkeys' 4th or 5th best

I like it enough, although I'm a bit of a fangirl about Arctic Monkeys. I fell in love with the debut, each album got a little worse, big comeback with AM, wasn't too impressed with the last one. But I can appreciate any act that mixes it up a little every release.

Humbug is the fourth best in my opinion.

Debut
AM
Favorite Worst Nightmare
Humbug
Suck It and See
Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino

Ditto this order, IMO debut and AM are nearly tied for 1, big drop off to Favourite Worst Nightmare, then an even bigger jump to Humbug/Suck It/Tranquility

I definitely agree this is better than AM. But also AM as an album was sloppy in a specific way where what I disliked about it turned out to be present in their other records. AM’s release week was the last time I thought Arctic Monkeys was a good band.

That sloppiness felt more like variety to me.
