This is practically one of my favorite albums ever. I don't get tired of it. At all. babyBlueSedan described it as "Like walking through an empty city, thinking about your high school and college friends" and I've been walking through empty night cities, post-parties, listening to this indie rock classic (and this is one of the few indie rock albums I'd consider top-class). I actually think it's impossible for me to say bad things about it honestly.
Btw go read my description of it on my chart _________________ My Top 100 :

This isn't my favorite album anymore, but I think it's the album that's meant the most to me at any one point in time, if that makes sense. I discovered it the year after I graduated college and pretty much every lyric hit so hard. Six years on and I've adjusted and I still adore it but it just isn't as relevant anymore.
I listened to it recently and can now admit that I do not like "I Love a Magician" at all. Possibly my least favorite song on an album I rate 10/10. On the other hand, I never really appreciated "Back and Forth" as one of the highlights here. I've been listening to it a lot lately and can't get enough of the drumming. Second best drum track on the album after "Girl o'Clock." _________________ And it's hard to be a human being. And it's harder as anything else.

I think this album holds up surprisingly well. There's a lot of other stuff of similar genre that I liked in the 00s that I just couldn't bring myself to listen to now, but Emergency & I has a unique blend of indie rock mixed with post-hardcore that I haven't heard many other bands emulate.
Also want to add that the album artwork is among my favorites. It's simple and a little amateurish but it reminds me so much of Super Mario 64 which I have very fond memories of. _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!

A Life of Possibilities would make a top songs of the 90s for me; rest of the album is great. Flashes of hi-fi era GBV but way better.
