I've noticed a current trend of highlighting members in the Lounge for discussion. I want to nip this in the bud now, before we go through every single member on the site. To my mind, these threads are unnecessary, and are doing more harm than good.

Most people will not be aware of quite how much time is spent behind the scenes trying to keep the site running smoothly, which includes writing posts like this, dealing with PMs, keeping the peace, handling reported posts, removing spam and other objectionable content, and so on. The additional task of dealing with angry users because somebody has decided to do a caricature in the lounge is something that I can do without.

Site rule number one is about showing other members a bit of respect, and these threads do not demonstrate any respect for the affected members. I want to kindly ask that these types of post are no longer created.
