This has half-innovative half-rootsy instrumentals that were fire; then on top both has the charisma of Mos Def and hunger of Talib; then on top of that has undying rhymes and verses and small stories that still tops nearly anything. This is everything great about hip hop and literally one of the best (and personal favorite) in the genre! It's been rare that I've heard a rap album with awe-inspiring lyricism, but this is one.
