And while I like the sound and the production on St. Vincent’s track here, it seems to be not one of
My fave songs off her album from last year.
But this Civic track has that thrilling early Black Flag-Ish bite and fury with gobs of kick ass punk energy and a sick galloping drum attack and a sick solo and it’s awesome.
Okay, so maybe it wasn’t hard as a choice at all! Civic easily. _________________ -Ryan

Same for me, except "My Baby Wants a Baby" was one of the highlights of St. Vincent's album last year, and I didn't love the album as a whole. SV gets my vote. Civic is cool though, new to me and I will definitely be checking out more. _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!
I didn't dislike the SV track but I consider the Civic album as one of the best of this decade so the choice for me is easy. And I can guarantee you, if you like this track you will like the rest of the album as well: there are no misses to be found.

I agree 100% with Mercury. Will have to check out that Civic album. I liked 'Daddy's Home' though too, just wouldn't have been the song I picked. _________________ Griselda, by Fashion Rebels 2020's Hip-Hop 2020's Country
I went with Civic as it had great energy. On a first listen, I was a bit thrown by the Sheena Easton thing on My Baby Wants a Baby. Seemed a solid track nonetheless.

Imperfect, sensitive Aspie with a melody addiction
Both songs come from albums I found very middle of the road and even though I prefer St. Vincent's album sliiiightly more than Civic's, the song match up goes to Civic. Not the best song on the album but it certainly is good punk (I would've chosen Back To You or Come To Know). At least it's more rootsy punk in line with Black Flag and a little Husker Du too. _________________ My Top 100 :

Those two other Civic tracks were also highlights of that album but it was difficult to choose.
My Baby Wants a Baby is a really imaginative song and comes with a great vibe as well.
Hollywood Nights In Hamburg is a superb choice... if you like punk. Personally, I'd rather look the other way.
Easy vote for My Baby Wants A Baby. _________________ Bob Dylan Charles Mingus
