Its always tough to label an album my favorite, but at one point I'd say this was my favorite record. It may be the album I've listened to the most. I always thought Soundgarden was one of the more odd bands that ever had high profile success. Like many of the grunge bands the mainstream sort of came to them rather than the other way around. Chris Cornell's songwriting is probably at its best here.

It's a little too long IMO but still has some classic Soundgarden moments i.e. Mailman, Head Down & the fabulous Black Hole Sun.

My favorite grunge album. A sweet balance of radio hits and deep cuts. Every song is enjoyable. Really good stuff.

I know this is their biggest album, but I found it something of a letdown after the astonishing Badmotorfinger.
Good album still, for me also marred by some overexposure to Black Hole Sun. So many great Soundgarden songs I would have liked to have gotten that kind of following.

I’d go with The Day I tried to Live as the best song on the album and also Soundgarden’s best song of all. Yeah, Black Hole Sun suffers a tad from overexposure.
