This usage just strikes me as too manipulative. They probably could have played "Yakety Sax" in the background of that sequence instead, and it would have made just as much sense to the viewers. In fact, I don't understand why "Yakety Sax" isn't used all the time in modern TV dramas. Do you really need any other background music than "Yakety Sax"? No! Of course not!
But like I posted in the other thread, this is their best album, and the whole thing is extremely effective at evoking a very specific mood, similar to the mood you'd probably be in when you're the only person left in the bar at closing time, you didn't drive your own car there, and you just realized there's a city-wide taxi strike going on.
