I am really no good at music diaries, but I'm going to make another attempt at one. So, I'll start with the first song I listened to in 2025. It was "Nearer to Thee" by Sam Cooke with The Soul Stirrers. I've always loved this song and Sam Cooke. How could anyone not love Sam Cooke?

The first album I listened to in 2025 was

Glorious God: Songs Of Worship & Wo...ren Talley. Here's my favorite track from that album, "Mercy Tree".

There's a "Favorite Christian Song" song challenge on NightCafe, where entrants try to create an AI image that depicts the essence of the song they pick. I have many favorite Christian songs, but I chose "Broken World" by The Talleys for this challenge. Here's the image I just created with Microsoft Bing Image Creator to enter the challenge on NightCafe.

And here's the song that I created the image for. It was written by Rebecca J. Peck & Dianne Wilkinson.

The new album by the Kramers was just released.

STOWTOWN RECORDS ANNOUNCES HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED RELEASE FROM THE KRAMERS

Soli Deo Gloria by The Kramers

I have four favorite tracks after my first listen, "He Loved My Soul", "Some Things Never Change", "Everyone" & "There's a Light Shining in Bethlehem". My opinion could possibly change after more listens, but as of now, I am picking "He Loved My Soul" as my favorite new track released this week.

Next week the new album by Southbound will be released. I'm looking forward to that one. The title cut's already out and I love it.

My favorite new track released this week is "Call on Jesus" by Southbound from their new album "I Left it in the Water". I also love the title track to this album, but it was released a few months ago as a single, before the album came out.

I'm listening to this one a lot at the moment. It was released in December of 2024. I discovered it this month.

Sometimes we have song lyrics prompt challenges on NightCafe. There is one going on now and I just tried to create an image using the lyrics from this song that I love to enter into the challenge. My song lyrics prompt was automatically blocked by the site for "child safety" reasons, so I was unable to create an image using these lyrics. I'm guessing the reason the prompt was blocked is because the song mentions death and destruction and includes the word "slave". It also mentions blood when it talks about the blood of Jesus. I guess the AI recognizes those words but not the context, so the prompt was blocked, even though the song is about victory and freedom.
