Anita Bryant, who appeared at Super Bowl V, made 32 albums, and Up With People (SB's V, IX, X, XIV, and XVI) made 40 albums, and BEA doesn't list a single one of them. (I mean, obviously, but I'm just sayin'.)
We do have this, though (SB XIII):
Gramacks International
Ou Pa Bon Cauchemard (1976)
They're from Dominica (not to be confused with the Dominican Republic). If you tried to book a band like this for a Super Bowl halftime show today, I suspect the fascists would be extremely unhappy.

Halftime shows were so different back in the day - a variety show oriented around a theme rather than a show focused on a blockbuster headliner. The last theme year was 2004. No one's mentioned Grambling State University Marching Band yet, which performed in a record 6 shows.
Anyway, definitely either To Pimp A Butterfly or Good Kid, M.A.A.D City in my book - 2 of the best albums of all time. _________________ Join us in the canon game 😄 / Add me on RYM
