"One of the great British debut albums of the seventies. Outlandos d'amour is a wonderful new wave/punk record with hints of reggae and rock. It features some of The Police's best songs. Roxanne, is of course superb, one of the great all time singles, along with, so lonely, and, can't stand losing you. Off the lesser known tracks, next to you, hole in my life, peanuts, and, truth hits everybody, are the best ones. The blow up doll fetish, be my girl, is okay, but probably the weakest moment here. All in all, a great LP, ful of energy and grit. Excellent."

"Che colpo deve essere stato al momento della sua uscita "Outlandos d'amour" ! E si che nel 1978 le sorprese discografiche non mancavano… Credo che una simile concentrazione di hits ( "Roxanne", "So lonely", "Can't stand losing you", "Born in the 50's"… ) non la si aveva dai dischi dei Beatles. E' un disco imperfetto, questo; un diamante grezzo di pop secco, intelligente, sanguigno e ballabile insieme. Verrà la perfezione ( "Reggatta de blanc" ) e la perdita dell'ispirazione ( "Zeniatta Mondatta" ), la ricerca di nuove strade ( "Ghost in the machine" ) e la quadratura del cerchio ( "Synchronicity" ), prima dello scioglimento, ma nessun disco dei Police sarà più altrettanto eccitante, per me, di questo esordio."

One of the great debuts. I go back and forth on this and Regatta de Blanc being my favorite Police album.
