I like music but I think that my tastes are too narrow. Here's some of the stuff I like in particular by decade:

60s: Beatles, Stones. Listened to first few songs on the banana album today and thought it was good, but I think Heroin gets too much praise. Also, my mom has a Roy Orbison greatest hits CD that she's been putting on lately, which I like.
70s: Zeppelin, Stones, hard rock in general.
80s: Underground metal, like Metallica.
90s: All the big alternative rock bands (mainly from the first half of the 90s).
2000s: Avenged Sevenfold (sometimes the vocals are whiney, but it only gets really bad on a few songs), Pinkly Smooth, the local metal bands.

Also, sometimes I think that people care more about being different than making good music these days.

edit: and my name comes from a rolling stones song. I wanted something that was simple and positive.

Hoo lawd do we have some work to DO Smile

Alright, well if Metallica is your speed here are a few albums from that era that you absolutely need to get your hands on:

Rust in Peace-Megadeth
Ace of Spades-Motorhead
Angel Witch-Angel Witch
Among the Living-Anthrax
Powerslave-Iron Maiden
British Steel-Judas Priest
Balls to the Wall-Accept
The Real Thing-Faith No More
Nothingface-Voivod
Seasons in the Abyss-Slayer

If you dig the Beatles and Stones, you gotta get your hands on Odessey and Oracleby The Zombies and Arthur: Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire IMMEDIATELY.

Ignore everyone and only listen to the albums on my chart, we all have come to the conclusion I have the best overall taste in music. Or you can check out 'Refused - The Shape of Punk To Come' to start out with. Also, where have you ever got the idea that Metallica is underground metal?
