I think it's between this and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy for best hip hop record of this century, so far. None of it compares to the stuff from the early 90s, but this is really strong.

Just another example of Jay-Z's genius. A perfect example of how to make a great pop-rap record, with some of the best production out there. The Black Album was also great, but ever since he hasn't been nearly as strong as he is here. Here's hoping he will someday get back to this level.

It's funny he called this the blueprint. Ironically, it established a blueprint for his future albums, with which he couldn't come close to topping this. Jay-Z rapping had already started to slide a little since Reasonable Doubt, but it's made up for by the brilliant production. His best.

I've always thought this was slightly over-rated...
I prefer Reasonable Doubt & The Black Album. _________________ Doubles & Conch

Ever heard of 36 Chambers or Madvilliany? Stankonia? My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is the best Modern Rap album, I would say, but the Blueprint? Not even in my top 10. _________________ tim
