My posting on another thread suddenly gave me an urge to boast about my first sound system. A Victrola phonograph. No amplifier, no speakers, no electricity required (you wind up a spring with the crank and voilร ).

Got about 20 78 PRM records. All classic except for one rock album - Ain't that a Shame by Pat Boone. The Beatles are too recent to have had 78 RPMs

... How do you post a picture here?

My wife and I bought one for an anniversary... the guy through in 25 78s of our choice. We got early Johnny Cash, Billlie Holiday, and a load of big-band. It's a wind up model from 1932. Not the most practical purchase, but we think it's cool.
