About album of the day: The BestEverAlbums.com album of the day is the album appearing most prominently in member charts in the previous 24 hours. If an album has previously been selected within a x day period, the next highest album is picked instead (and so on) to ensure a bit of variety.
A beautiful album. "Me and the Devil Blues" is one of my favorite songs and Johnsons guitar work here makes him of the best ever, even if he only has like 28 songs or whatever number it is. In a way the first lo-fi album, I guess also.
It's difficult to find anything to say about this record. It's one of the few records about which I could say something as drastic (and wrong and unfair) as "If you don't like this, you don't like music". "Hell Hound On My Trail" is my favourite, but all are hauntingly great.
Be prepared... It's influence is everywhere. This is a foundation album that stands up brilliantly on its own. _________________ Finnegan was super bad-ass.
